JOE SCHEUFELE Senior VP, Business Development
Mr. Scheufele has 30 years experience in the energy industry primarily in the sale and marketing of natural gas and Demand Side Management programs. An experienced energy manager, he has worked on a number of initiatives throughout his career including developing CRA initiatives which were the precursor for the current New Jersey Clean Energy program.
Mr. Scheufele’s responsibilities encompass planning, developing, and implementing the strategic and tactical sales and business development efforts for Energenic covering the industrial, food processing, health care, gaming (commercial and tribal), federal, state and tribal government markets. Business development efforts focus on Combined Heat & Power, Central Energy Plants, Distributive Generation and renewable Projects.
Mr. Scheufele received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Rowan University formerly Glassboro State College and completed the Stone & Webster Utility Management Development Course.
An active member of several business organizations, Mr. Scheufele serves on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee for the Southern New Jersey Development Council; the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Economic Development Association of New Jersey; and the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce.
JOHN R. SPURLOCK VP, Business Development
John Spurlock has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry. Mr. Spurlock has worked as a team leader developing lighting retrofit projects, cogeneration, HVAC and thermal energy projects for the industrial and casino markets. Mr. Spurlock has extensive experience in sales, transportation and delivery of natural gas and electricity to the large industrial end-users.
Mr. Spurlock has a B.S. from Rowan University formerly Glassboro State College and is a graduate of the American Gas Association Institute of Gas Technology, as a Chartered Industrial Gas Consultant. He is also a former member of Fuel Merchant Association of New Jersey.
Current responsibilities include sales of natural gas, electricity, development of mechanical, cogeneration and thermal energy projects, as well as lighting retrofits, commercial HVAC and demand-side management.
Mr. Spurlock has played key roles in developing lighting retrofit projects for Seabrook Bros, Shore Memorial Hospital, Mannington Mills, as well as a cogeneration project for Johnson Matthey, Sands Casino HVAC replacement and lighting, Seneca Niagara Casino thermal and cogeneration project, and Mannington Mills cogeneration plant.
FREDERICK C. GALLAGHER VP Business Development
A graduate of Syracuse University College of Law Rick has 25 years of financial, legal and energy experience and a CIGC designation from the Gas Technology Institute. In his current position as VP of Business Development Rick develops, manages and facilitates relationships in the Tribal Energy, Indian Gaming, Renewable and the Government sectors.
Responsibilities include natural gas and electric sales, development of CHP and thermal energy projects, lighting and HVAC retrofits as well as identifying new energy related opportunities. Prior to joining Energenic LLC performed corporate due diligence, conducted contract negotiations and participated in the delivery of investment management products such as asset backed securities, special purpose vehicles and collateralized loan obligations.
Mr. Gallagher has a B.A. from Denison University, J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and is a Chartered Industrial Gas Consultant.
PHIL CERRIA VP Business Development
Mr. Cerria has over 25 years of experience in the energy industry, primarily direct sales and marketing of natural gas, electricity and fuel oil to large industries throughout the U.S. East Coast. Mr. Cerria has a working knowledge of demand-side management, wholesale and commercial fuel sales to utility and government entities, including oil trading and supply.
Mr. Cerria is responsible for the direct sales of natural gas, electricity and the development/maximization of energy assets of large industrials. Successes include: negotiation and implementation of multi-year natural gas and electric contracts within the deregulated marketplace; development and implementation of a BTU commercial offer to minimize fuel costs; load management resulting in lower-cost utility delivery charges; cost/energy-saving lighting redesigns and retrofits.
Mr. Cerria is SJE’s lead contact for the Chemistry Council of New Jersey and the Gloucester and Salem Counties Plant Executive Committee. He is also an active member of the South Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Employee Legislative Committee of Cumberland County and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association.
Mr. Cerria holds a M.B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Marketing from Seton Hall University.
JUDI HALL Vice President, Business Development
Ms. Hall has 12 years experience in the energy industry primarily in commodity sales for both natural gas and electricity. Her current responsibilities encompass overseeing sales efforts for major accounts in the southern New Jersey region for food processing and healthcare organizations. Her oversight includes maintenance of existing customer relationships and cultivating new business. She also manages whole energy portfolios for customers inclusive of natural gas, electricity, solar, lighting, distributed generation, HVAC design and installation, demand side management and various other technical solutions and products.
Ms. Hall has an associate’s degree from Atlantic County Community College and has completed training programs with Dale Carnegie in Sales and Presentations as well as the Energy Management Institute in Futures, Options and Derivatives.
An active member of several business and community based organizations, Ms. Hall participates on the Southern New Jersey Development Council Health Committee, belongs to the South Jersey Pharmaceutical & Medical Technology Industry Alliance, the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, the New Jersey Food Processors Association and the Health Institute of New Jersey. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the South Jersey Aids Alliance and the Martin Wilson Jr. Art & Music Foundation.
